The RENATURA Festival, dedicated to the renaturation of spaces, environments, and buildings, took place on June 1st and 2nd on the campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) in Gandia. The event, sponsored by the Gandia City Council and coordinated by the Valencia Institute of Building (IVE), brought together developers, designers, politicians, and students.
Various activities organized during the festival, which focused on the benefits of green roofs in this edition, provided a practical understanding. Different companies in the green roof sector, including designers and installers like “SingularGreen” and product suppliers such as “SemperGreen”, showcased their most iconic projects.
The agenda also featured visits to green roofs on public and private buildings in the city of Gandia, concluding with a tour of the city’s green belt. The event culminated with the application of a practical case study on the design of the restoration of a public roof proposed by the Gandia City Council. Fifty students from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, guided by professors from the “MADERAMEN Chair” presented their proposals to benefit Gandia City Council and develop the winning proposal.
